hey guys i got a ques i knwo theres many diff cable modems is there a diffrence in the cable modems??? or are they all the same

I think one of the main differences is the connection it uses to connect to the PC. Usually Ethernet or USB.

Ethernet requires a NIC or onboard ethernet. USB is standard on most motherboards.

Ethernet is easier to share, as it can be plugged simply into a router or something.

i've personally had two different modems - an RCA and a surfboard (forgot who made it) - and haven't noticed a bit of difference between either one on speed...........only the ISP seems to make the difference..........when i was on [email protected], the speed was incredible but Charter.net seems to lag a good bit.............
