does all firewire cable operate at 400Mbps? i was looking at newegg and saw that the belkin wire was considerably higher in price than the OEM stuff. the Belkin mentioned the transfer speed but the OEM didn't.
 
The maximum bandwidth for Firewire hardware is 400 Megabits a second, which is around 50 MegaBytes a second of data transfer.
