Ok, i have a PCI card with two USB v1.1 installed right now. say my dad buys a scanner that can be hoocked up by USB but the scanner is USB v2.0. will my USB 1.1 card can still accept usb 2.0 devices or not?

just curios to know, before he buys a scanner

Most devices have compatibility with both, just that 1.1 is much slower.

There are a few things that are 2.0 only, because they require a high speed. Most video cameras use firewire, but I've seen a few that are firewire/usb 2.0.

ya like they said 1.1 devices will work with 2.. all of them should..jsut not fast. and 2.0 devices will not all work with 1.1... though im sure some will... but things liek CD-RW and DVD drives wont usually.. at least nto at full speed for sure:eh?: :D
