Are there any difference between 1700+ and 1800+?

I'm running my Tbred A 1700+ @ 1811.8MHz 1.675v..
ASUS Probe reports that the voltage is 1.76v

Well.. I pushed it 1900MHz with 1.75v but very unstable..
Also, I do not want any noise.. CPU fan is spinning @ 2000RPM..
To run @ 1.9GHz, I need full speed of FAN (2600RPM)

181.18MHz x 10 = 1811.8MHz @ 1.675v (1.76v actually)
Memory Timing is 2-3-3-5 (Can't find 1T or 2T menu..)

If I have better Cooler, I may go higher... but, noise is problem..

Oh~ CPU Temp...
ASUS Probe reports 36C
BIOS reports 46C

I think A7N8X has problem about reading temp..

1700+ runs at 1467MHz, 1800+ runs at 1533MHz.

1700+ has a 11 multi and the 1800+ an 11.5.

Oh~

I wasn't talking about that..
I mean... the difference when they were overclocked..
Actually, I asked the overclockablity of those CPU.

The price difference was only $10...
I chose cheaper one...

If 1800+ is better overclocker, than I made mistake...
Which one is better overclocker? This is what I wanted to know..

Anyway, thanks for kind answering....:p

I've been hearing mixed things about the 1700s, but most of the 1800s seem to have done well so I think that the 1800 is a better buy right now. Your chip seems to be doing fairly well though.

I think the biggest thing is the stepping and week of the cpu. Do you know which week you got?

I found the limit of this CPU...
Well.. 1870MHz is the most stable and highest clock win Zalman and 2600RPM 92mm fan..
178.18MHz x 10.5 = 1870.91MHz

Vcore is 1.725v (Probe reads 1.808v)

None of higher clock was stable even @ 1.75v (1.83v with Probe)

Now, my system is not that noisy.. but I want quieter system.. I think 1800MHz is powerful enough.. yet quiet....

By the way, I got 12669 3DMark.. Gain is not that great.
I guess lower memory clock causes the 3DMark score even though CPU clock is higher..

What does the bios report the Vcore at?

Most 1700+ tbred procs were a poorer stepping/revision code. The best and most consistently good overclocking core is the AIUGA code. This is found etched on the cpu core. You'd have to remove the heatsink and goop to find yours if you haven't written it down already.

Some of the RIWGAs have been doing fairly well. I think the week is more important, with those from week 42 doing consistently better than those from week 34.

actually on the tbreds they arent etched into the core its on a sticker like thing on the side so you dont need to remove your goop but its always a good idea to reapply after taking your hsf off

I tested my computer in several environments..
Well.... 1870MHz is the highest clock..
Memory is not the limits.. this memory can hadle up to 182MHz.

To get higher clock, I need better cooling system..

BTW, I got new 3DMark2001 score.. 12790..!!
I tested as soon as system boot up..
Old score was error.. I accessed the computer by LAN while I was testing it.. :D

CPU code.. hmm... I'm lazy.. I do not wanna take off the Cooler and FAN... at this moment..

Well.. I think 1800+ is better overclocker... but require $10 more..

My new memories are on their way.. according to UPS tracking system, they are gonna arrive here by next monday..

Corsair PC3500 C2 512MB x2 Platium Edition.. :D
So far all my system was tested with 1 stick of memeory..
by next week, I'll be able to test with 2 sticks @200MHz (400MHz DDR) or higher..

Quiz!!! Will I get 13500 3DMark by next week or not?

12790 3DMark @ 178.18MHz 2-3-3-5
xxxxx 3DMark @ over 200MHz 2-2-2-5

lol

whoops! forgot about that!

Another record.. 12815 3DMark..
Well.. 13500 would be possible...:D

By the way... VCore of BIOS and Probe are same when they read VCore...

Only CPU temp is differ....

Got my 1700+ AUIGA yesterday. Haven't done much with it. All I can say for certain is it won't do 166fsb at default multi and voltage. (either that or the ddr333 ram I just got wont do it, though I doubt that, I'll try my 2100+ that I know will do 166 to see.) Also maybe try flashing the latest bios to see if that helps (no clue what bios I've got as I just got the board and never bothered checking.)
