KT400 / NForce2 and Palomino's

Hey peeps, I just bought I new XP 2000+ and some PC2100 memory. I wanted to know if the KT400 / NForce2 mobo's will over-write the locked multi on Palomino XP's like they do for Tbreds so I could change my multiplyer without unlocking my CPU. Is this possable or does that only work for Tbred's?

Don't fear, it isn't that hard to unlock an XP.

Those board dont over-write locked T-breds. T-breds come unlocked. Or so is my understanding on the matter.

Nope, the boards do that. I know someone who had a 2400+ in a 8K7A+ and it was impossible to unlock it till it was in his Asus A7N8X - KT400.

You still need a KT400 or nForce 2 chipset to access the multies on the Tbreds though. If you have a KT333 or any other Socket A chipset, they won't recognize the factory unlock unless you connect the last L3 bridge (think it's that one)

Well thats because you have a Palamino. The nforce2 boards simply recognize the factory unlocked Tbirds as was stated by Typicol, they do not unlock anything themselves.
