I tried to lower the multiplier to 8 and raise the fsb to 166mhz while set memory frequency like 82%, 75% or 50%. It won't post and I have to reset the cmos in order to get in the bios again

yeah.... those options like 82%, 75%, 50% looks nice in the bios options. But they don't work at all. Maybe because it is a BETA Bios. None the less, the purpose of this thread is to show people who is using NForce2 board without speedy ram like Corsair PC3200/3500.

All day yesterday, I played with bios setting, resetting cmos and increase my FSB 1 mhz at the time. This is the best result I am getting.

I can set FSB like 154mhz and Window XP will boot. But running Sandra Multimedia Benchmark or 3D marks 2001SE's High Polygon count, WinXP will blue screen. Any other benchmarks can finish without a problem.

thanks elusion.

I'm also planning to get a 8rda+ and already have 2 sticks of Crucial DDR 2100. I guess that should be enough for my tbredA and then I'll upgrade with a 2400/2600+ with 3200/3500 mem.

Optimal is not the fastest setting, it is a mix of speed and stability. Set it to Aggressive for better results.

Update!

I have changed my setting....

Now it is 185x12 = 2230mhz (Don't ask why, and I have no answer, yesterday it wont even post at that setting)

Sandra CPU, multimedia benchmark is very similiar, the difference is within 1 % error margin.

However, Big boost on Memory score, 3Dmark 2001 and Super PI

3D marks Compare Links

I got question, I can set higher FSB and all the benchmarks can run but... 3D marks' High Polygon Count will crash no wanter what Vcore I set at. What can be the cause of it? and also, at current setting, if I set Vcore at 2.000v, benchmarks will fail, but if I set Vcore at 1.950v, benchmarks will run and I can burn/fold the system for 30 mins without crashing. Any idea why?
