Well, while playing with BIOSes I screwed up my 8500.

Retail ATI 8500LE 128mb

It came with the 7.006 BIOS

I tried to flash a modded BIOS and it didn't work, and flashing back to the original BIOS doesn't work either. It seems like neither of the flashers I'm using (ATIflash 1.3 and Flashrom 2.10) work on my card.

When I try to flash it displays:
Serial ROM
BIOS DeviceID = 0x514C
ASIC DeviceID = 0x514C
Flash Type = ST M25P10

and then sits and does nothing, with the floppy drive light on.

The modded BIOS had a different DeviceID (5148 instead of 514C).

I've tried it on two different motherboards.

The card is currently not working, but I've got a PCI card that I can use to work on it.

Any thoughts?

Thanks, the link works - but the link inside the link (the link to the .zip file) doesn't.

Do you know which flash program was included? Right now I'm just trying to flash the original BIOS back.

I think I may have wrecked the card - The idea was to change the DeviceID from 514C (Radeon 8500) to 5148 (FireGL 8800).
