Oracle Single Sign-On session question

I am configuring Oracle with a SSO session policy and one of the options to check is "Verify IP addresses for requests made to the SSO server". If anyone have experience with this, can they please elaborate on advantages and disadvantages of this being checked or unchecked. Thanks,
