just bm"d my brand new wd special edition hd and the numbers suck... should be around 32000 im gettin 16000. what gives????

detailed specs of ur machine kud help

also, is it a ata133 drive? does ur mobo support ata133? if ur mobo doesnt support ata133, set it to 100. i fixed my low sandra drive benchie with that.

th7ll with all the drivers installed ata 100, windows xp,it is installed on the primary ide alone. funny thing, it was bmimg at 25000 then suddenly the scores dropped

Also, Sandra scores aren't exactly the most reliable indicators for hard drive performance. Might wanna try HD Tach for that.
