experiment system:
amd xp2000+ not oc'd, stock hs and fan
various fans...
easytuner4 for temps..sry don't have anything better atm
prime95 for load temps, running 15mins

to complicated to go into detail about experiment, but I received THE LOWEST CPU temps from 3 exhauts, 2 intakes...negative pressure...

idle cpu: 44C, system: 34C (w/ front bays closed up)
load cpu: 49C, system: 37C(front bays closed)

now with the front bays all open, more air flow, but still negative fans

idle cpu: 46C, system: 30C
load cpu: 51C, system: 31C

so with drive bays open, system temp is alot lower, but cpu temp is higher!!
I thought cpu temp was affected by the system temp? (isnt system temp from the air inside?)

i just thought it was interesting that i found best results from a so-called "negative" pressure, even with higher system temps

Is your cpu hsf fan ducted to the case door? If so, the open bays would stop the exhaust fans from assisting the duct fan...

Just guessing.
