Question Can you help me with my winmodems?

Ok heres is the problem. I have two different winmodems. I'll get pics of the chips but i can't right now. I am using Mandrake 9 w/ KDE. One of the modems is from dell and i found redhat 7.2 drivers for a modem that i think is it and those don't work (maby they won't instal becasue i get no confermation that they installed or no error). The other modem is a Creative Labs and i'll get the chip pics real soon. I am a linux n00b so i don't know much. Can you help me casue if i can get my modme working in linux that it would be easer to learn about it?

Ok i have a winmodem that i have the right drivers for. The problem is that i have mandrake 9 and they are meant for Redhat 7.2. I navigated to the directory and typed rpm -i thefilename. Nothing happend it went down one line to a new command line. I could not get the modem to work trying all of the modem settings.
