The 512 shouldnt be any slower- two sticks of 256 on an nforce2 might. Two sticks on your board would probably limit your overclocking because you would be hit by the weakest link.

I would like to know that as well. I'm shopping ram right now and thought you only get a 10% discount from ordering directly through Crucial.com.

P.S. Did you notice they are sponsoring a bowl game this year?

For extra 5% discount (15% rather than the normal 10%) you need to go to this URL: http://www.crucial.com/usergroups/

and then type in any thing your heart desire in the box on right that says "user groups" and then click on the "go" button. This must add a special cookie to give you the extra 5%.

That's so cool! I'm all over it.
Do you think the prices will drop after Christmas? Ram isn't too bad right now.

The 512MB stick or ram is definately FASTER than the 256MB stick. Since the 512MB stick has more memory onboard, it requires less swapping between addiitonal dimms to gain access to more memory unlock the 256MB module which would fill quickly.

Qith Ps becoming more and more advanced today, I wouldnt go any less than 1GB for ram. If your upgrading, make sure your reaching for at least 1GB at minimal.

Just picked up 512mb of new ram. Glad there was a 15% discount because Crucial doesn't inform you of sales tax until after your card is charged. (depends on where you live)
