K7S5A Rev 3 problems

Don't know if this has been gone over yet or not. I have the K7S5A and have been having problems since I purchased in January of this year. Has anyone else been getting slow respones from board using DDR PC-2700 (256MB) slot 1 & 2 of DDR section? I have had problems in XP Pro & 2000 with memory loss. I did not have as many problems with the SDR Ram, also 256MB (PC-133). I get the slowdowns when running games and programs such as Media player (scrolling through song list). I am running only minor software in the backround (sound card, cdrw, etc.). am in the process of getting an Asus board, but want to use this board for a dedicated Linux Box. Any ideas would be appreciated.
