Whoa, you guys see the cooling on the Geforce Fx, looks wicked. I always wanted to do this to my GF4, but never did try.

Don't see why you would worry about it taking the first PCI slot seeing as it's shared with the AGP slot.

i sincerly doubt that unless you have the case right up against a wall~ the idea is that the force will cause the hot air to be removed far enough away from the case, and that it will RISE~ also a SIMPLE mod could fix that using one plexi to direct the input sucking down~

Better view of the whole thing:

This was on Tech TV 2 weeks ago. If you notice, the exaust is angled away from the intake slightly.

Lots of ppl, including me, have their case very close to a wall, or desk...and what about the ppl who have their computers in a little cabinet inside their desk...that will create huge temps for ur whole system

Even so, it'll be recycling a whole lot less than a standard card with a standard cooler, where the fan just stirs air around in a cramped space over a puny HSF.

This will give it cool air from outside of the case and exhaust the hot air outside as well. The hot exhaust is directed away enough that it won't be drawn in very much at all. Even if you're up against a wall I doubt you'd draw in more than a few percent of the exhausted air.

I'm very pleased to see this cooling method used, especially with the addition of heat pipes. It's easily the most superior air cooling method used to date.

Hee Hee I guess your right about ugly, but i think performance is what we are looking for. I think we could do some cool mods to the cooling duct as well. Like add LED's to it. That might make it look better.

HuH weird cooling IMHO

ABIT OTES looks much better than this
but who cares about Ugly anyway

seems like it will block the 1st pci which i dont like about it
better off with a smaller card

If that pci slot is shared with the agp slot, why is it even on the motherboard? can it be used for anything, say a modem or network card?

i dont see why anyone cares about the first pci, but maybe nvidia will make their next rev nforce2's with spaces below the agp to accomodate their card

it usually shares an IRQ with the AGP, for a PCI video card...most mobo's look for video in the first slot...If you have an AGP video card, you really don't need the first PCI slot...and since most mobo's come with 5-6 PCI slots anyway, it shouldn't be a major inconvenience...
