oem or retail cpu any difference besides warranty?

the title about says it all. so is there anything besides the warranty thats different? i'm looking at an xp1800

that and retail hsf- which is garbage anyways. If you are planning to oc- there is no reason to buy retail

oem is just the cpu chip

ok cool, i have no use for another retail hsf, i have the stock one from my tbird and a spare volcano 7. and i have a v9 for the new 1800

From what I've read here, the best O/Cing p4s are the oem c-1 1.8As, the ones from Dull. They have been doing 3.0 to 3.7 or so.

I've seen some decent (4-600 mhz on a 2.4) on stock cooling. Just saying.....
