Painting the insade in White?

How would wait paint react to UV CCFL or Leds? I want to paint all the inside metal of my case and put some UV to see how bright it would be!!

I'm pretty sure you meant 'white' instead of wait , well white paint is as good as it gets, there's no paint that I know of which is brighter.

BUT:
You'll need "real" white paint to make it real bright (It'll look kinda blueish), Leds arn't bright enough.....unless you put a **** load of them in your case, Plasticoat (Or is it Plastic Coat???) has some good paint that will light up real well.

Plain white might work good too, but make sure you put some clear coat over it, otherwise it'll be spoiled within....6 months/1 year??

The advantage of Plasticoate (If you buy a 2 can package) is that the clear coat protects the colored coat from UV light. (I'm pretty sure you can buy them seperatly).

**EDIT** It's Plasti-Kote (Had to take a look at some cans)

Im sure you've heard of UV reactive paint, which dries clear and only shows thecolor when exposed to UV light, I saw some at compUSA the other day if you dont know where to get it

Is there some sort of protectant sprayed on the metal in the case that needs to be sanded off before you start to paint the interior? I've been wanting to paint the inside of my Antec case black or red for a while now just hadn't had the time until recently

Yes, if it's a steel case the surface layers are galvanised and will need to be sanded a little in order to accept the paint.

And no, white paint WILL NOT glow under UV light. It will simply reflect it.
And Plasti-Kote paint is meant for hard shell protecting drywall, not metal. It probably wouldn't even stick to metal. The other products I've seen labelled as plasti-kote are grip-guard type applications for tools and would look pretty stupid on a case. It won't glow under UV light either.

Flourescent, UV reactive, and natural phospherouscent paints are your only options.

however laying a sheet of ordinary typing paper in the bottom of your case should glow very brightly.

Some laundry detergents, particularly RIT are known to be uv and black light reactive.
Clothes glowing in the clubs is due to the effect.
So check the laundry room

Just make sure the paint you'll be mixing with is not UV protective.
Some outside paints are.

You're right that plain white paint only reflects the light, but white UV reactive paint will be very bright, Which I meant with Plasti-Kote, but the right white ("real" white) is very bright as well.
And yes Plasti-Kote NEON is made for Metal, Plastic, Lexan and Wood.

Mmmm It seems some things have changed, now it's called Plasti-Kote Fluorescent paint
Compatible Surfaces: Cloth, Glass, Iron, Metal, Paper, Steel.
And it seems they don't have the 2 can packages anymore (Came with 1 can of Super Sheen Topcoat).

Conformal Coating is nice. It goes on clear and glows blue under UV. Here's a plexi cube with some on it:

Also here's a nice article macroman did on painting fans with flourescent paint and conformal coating: Paint Your Fans.

peace.
