External PSU for your RIG!!!

I got this idea from many other Dual PSU guides. I wanted to have an additional PSU to provide power for my fans, lights and any other part that would need power, but didn’t want them being feed from my default PSU, so it wouldn’t drain the power from it.

The whole idea is to connect Pin 14 to any COM pin (3, 5, 7, 13, 15, 16, 17 ) available on the atx connector and that would start up the PSU. You will need also to add a switch to that connection so you would be able to turn on/off the PSU whenever you want.

Here is a sketch on how you could add this to your rig without any major Surggery.

Hope this works for you all. It works for me!!!

Thanks
