shutdown prob?


um. for some reason. my ss51g won't auto shutdown anymore? y is that? how do i fix it?

There are a lot of things that could cause a crash or sudden reboot.

The first cause with overclockers is usually too much heat, too much voltage, too little voltage (poor Power supply or an overclocked cpu not getting enough voltage to run stable), a drive conflict, etc etc etc...

Another problem can be corrupted OS software. Win98 is notorious for this problem. Try reinstalling the OS.

When you shutdown, programs that started automatically must shutdown first. Usually when the system hangs during shutdown one of these programs is refusing to close. Work with the programs in your systray. Exit one at a time and try to shut down. If you can shutdown after turning one of these off, then that one is the problem. There is also the possibility that one proggy is conflicting with another.
