Question about Temp probe

With my new case, it has a LCD panel on the front. The way it reads temps is through a small, 2 pronged wire probe. I was wondering if this would be ok to attach to my cpu. Would this kill it? If i can, would I have to conncet it to the die? And what could i use to attach it? Thank you!

i think u can like tape it to ur chip but dont let it get in the way of the heatsink, waterblock.
