Question 8K5A2+ BIOS Settings

I am somewhat new to overclocking and have done all of the basic stuff. You can see my system in my sig. I am wanting to dive into the "deeper" stuff and have a few questions. Here goes.

What do the following settings in Freq/Volt Control really do.
-Auto Detect DIMM/PCI CLK
-Spread Spectrum

Both have Enable & Disable options only.

That's it for now but I am sure I will have more questions soon.

there is a bios optimization guide that explains the details of many of these settings. if you search google for bios optimization guide i believe you will find it on the first page of results. the guide will give you the most detailed explanation of what they do. i have both disabled on mine and that is the recommended setting... they both have similar functions which i believe have something to do with lowering the emittance of interference. im not sure about that because it sure doesnt sound like what the first one would do, but im going by memory and i believe that to be right, as i said though, do a search on google or someone else on the forums should be able to respond with a link... i think the author is adrian rojak. good luck.

Auto Detect DIMM/PCI Clk: When enabled the motherboard will automatically disable the clock source for a DIMM socket which does not have a module in it. Same applies for PCI slots. This setting will reduce the EMI.

Spread Spectrum: This item allows you to enable/disable the spread spectrum modulate. Has to do with EM radiation as well.

Don't think that either setting will affect much with your system.
