Don't know why she crashes (ASUS A7N8X Dx)

It is a great board, to bad it won't let me fold on it. I have the setup totally stable except when I fold. I have the latest nforce drivers and the latest vid drivers, I have hte "C" bios. The sys is completely fine until I start to fold. This ****es me off because it is at 166 fsb that I am just trying out before I really push it, and it is totally useless to fold on. By the way, it does the same thing when I put my 1600+ to stock or when I up the voltages. The timings are not agressive. The only thing that I "tweaked" is the fsb, but again, it still acts up at 133fsb.

1600+
256 Kingston 2100
GF3 Ti200 (driver 41.09)
XP Pro
Nforce driver 1.16

Help please. Thnx

Well if you can't fold then the board isn't stable. IMHO stability means you can peg the cpu at 100% and its fine hehe. Possibly its a temperature related issue or possibly a memory issue. I see you only are using pc2100 memory. At 166fsb that would cause issue I would think. Depending on how you have it configured even at 133 it would (if you specified a faster memory speed). Set it at 133fsb and set the memory speed to sync and see how it works. Also monitor the temps as you fold and see how hot it gets before it crashes.

Noooooo, bite your tongue. Temps are 34 idle and about 40 when it freezes. I'm gonna try some Crucial mem and see how it goes. Thnx

Musta been the mem, reset the cmos and relaxed some of the timings and it is going. Gotta save for some decent ram now. Thnx

My bad I just now saw you're using pc2100 - that would be quite a stretch at 166 even with loose timings. Get yourself some xms 3200 and you'll have plenty of headroom.
