I've seen XPs down to 1.2 (Xp 1400 at office depot) ghz in laptops.
so it's possible they are using crap laptop CPUs in these...

Ya, they have a 1.2 (1400xp) for laptops, but its NOT a duron proc.. They are saying a 1400 DURON!!
 
there is no Duron XP 1400+s though. and maybe there are XPs *clocked* at 1.2, but there is no official 1400+ title.

Some of the scammers call them D1400+'s.....

They must have some twisted way of computing PR numbers for Morgan Durons compared to Thunderbirds to explain that a 1.3Ghz Duron is equivalent to a 1.4Ghz Tbird....?!?!?!

I just love it when the infomercial computer and print people call 128MB of pc133 ram 'fast!' And wasn't this ram at BestBuy last week for 9.99 after the mail in rebate....
 
yes it was (and still is I believe) 9.99 for 128MB. I just picked up 256 mb of pc133 for my router (17.99 after MIR) only because it needed a little boost from 32mb. . . Only problem is, that my mobo only supports 128mb sticks (pc66. . . i didn't know that even exisited) the stick still works, it only comes up as 128 though. On another note, those people don't even try to scam people. They could at least throw some fony (sp?) pics of benchmarks and some quotes from various "sources"

ECS neve called it a "XP" only a "D1400+" it's the online sellers that messed it up and ECS is not the best for sure but its not on the same boat as PCCHIPS now their the worst (IMHO)
 
IMHO ECS and PCCHIPS and Amptron are the same hardware.

Sometimes I think they are the same company....
 
False advertising rules! That is why I only trust OC-Forums classified. We have great moderators to make sure no one is to get scammed.
