drivers that WORK for the 9700??

I love the 9700 dont get me wrong. But are there any drivers that DO work?? I have lockups in any HL based games, Q3 games, etc.......Its getting really annoying. It is not an everytime thing. Happens sometimes after a few seconds, sometimes after an hour. I am running Cat 2.5 drivers and DX 9. I tried the Cat 3.0 drivers and didnt like them much. best performance with the 2.5. Are there any drivers that are more reliable? I have tried the Omega (I think) drivers but lost performance. maybe losing a little FSP is woth it?

the newest omegas are pretty good....and imho losing 10fps is worth stability and reliability

Go with the omegas. The performance loss is really not that big.

The latest ATI-OFFICIAL WHQL Cat 3.0a (1/10/03) Drivers fix most previous problems & are also excellent.

Make sure you do a thorough job of uninstalling previous drivers, remove old ATI driver files from \Windows & \Windows\system32, & clean registry entries. Search for old ati*.* files to remove.

Thanks. I'll give them a try. I have a prob getting to www.ati.com lateyly through this router so I will try the Omega drivers. If they improve stability ill be happy!!!
