Well got my p4 2.4 533 to 2.7 (fsb 150, vcore 1.55, ddr 380) and ran Prime95 ALL night - was ok this am and still @ 52 degrees.

However, tried to boot tonight - "system failed due to cpu overclocking"

Bit of a bummer.

So throttled back to 148 and it boots again (2662 mhz) - not sure if this wil be more stable though.

Any thoughts ?

cheers

I'm actually in the process of running prime95 for my 1.8 that's running at 2.7, using the family rig for now, hope I don't have the same problem as you because I plan to push it further once I get rid of the stock heastink and put on the ax-478. Can you list your specs?

Spec:

Asus P4PE
Northwood B 2.4
1012 MB Corsair ddr 333
Coolermaster copper p4 heatsink+fan
no case fans
ext freq = 148
vcore = 1.6
ram freq = 380
agp/pci = 66.66/33.33 locked
psu = Q-Tech quiet 400 w

Was:

ext freq = 150
vcore = 1.55
cpu = 2700

Well I ran prime95 for about 12 hours, no errors. What kind of specs are you getting on your PSU, get a multimeter and measure the 5v and 12v lines to see if they're not too low. Also trying running the ram with 1:1 ratio to make sure thats not holding you back.
