There's talk of these being available by default on the xp2100 (unless you close the last L3).
My bios only lists multis from 5 to >=13.
I can only run this 2100 at 13, the highest choice in the bios. Is there a way to select 13.5, 14, and so on?
I have the latest bios from abit-usa.

Nope.. be thankfull you can use 13.. You can only use 13 on a 1.1 board i believe..

if you close the last L3 then you will get 12.5 and lower.

I'm not totally sure though.. I'd wait for someone with a 1.1 version board to say since i cant see them with my v1.0. Though i havent heard of anybody saying that yo ucould go higher then 13 with our board.

I'll check the mobo itself to check the version (1.0 vs. 1.1).

It should say the revision # after 'Abit kx7-333' on the mobo, right?
Mine has no revision listed. Does that mean it is a 1.0?

I believe so.. I think there was one sticker that had the serial number and the other one had the model # and revision #.

Well no not really.. Depends on your ram.. But really if ya wana run the ram at over 200FSB then you'll want the lower mults like 12.5 and 12.. Which is a no biggy since all ya have to do is unlock the chip by connection the last L3 bridge... Its too easy since you dont have to fill the pit to connect it.. Just horse shoe around the pit connecting the 2 dots to close the bridge and you'll have every mult lower then 13, but 13 will not work after that.

The board revision is indicated on a sticker on the bottom of the KX7. It is a long series of numbers (with bar code) and v1.0 at the end. On mine the 0 has a 1 drawn through it with what looks like a blue ballpoint pen.

I didn't need to unlock my 2100. It's using the >=13 in the BIOS (latest revision B6) and my FSB is as high as my memory will take at agg. timings.

I think my KX7 is a V1.1 (I'm not at home right now or I would check). I do have access to the 13x multiplier, but like the rest of you, cannot access any of the higher multipliers. I am currently running my 2100+ at 13*180= 2340 MHz. I'm letting it burn-in some, and hopefully I will be able to go higher.

I read in another thread that you might be able to get 13.5x and 14.0x by selecting the 5.5x and 6.0x. The open 5th bridge would add 8 to these settings (5.5+8=13.5 and 6+8=14). Has anyone tried this on the KX7 mobo?

No go for me. I'm stuck at this speed for now. I'm probably RAM limited at this fsb anyway.

I just home and tried it myself. No go here either. I lowered the FSB, so that the CPU MHz would be less than my current setup. I tried the 5.5x multiplier and the computer would not boot at all, not even into the BIOS. Oh well, I guess the KX7 simply cannot access the higher multipliers.

Should'nt be a prob with your ram.. Your ram should do 200FSB easy at 2-5or6-2 2T-r1T at cas 2 at 1.85v.

i've got my 2 sticks of 512 3200 non cas2 doing 200 FSB right now with a mult of 12.5 at 2500Mhz.

You are probably right about being able to run 200 MHz. I'm just not sure what problems I might have with the PCI bus running so high. The highest FSB I have run so far on this motherboard is 187 MHz with my 1800+ Tbred A.

Of course, I think I may be getting close to the limit with my CPU. My motherboard is limited to 1.85 volts, and I cannot even run 185 FSB with 1.80 volts yet. It looks like it is going to take a big voltage increase to go any higher.

With the 5:2:1 divider, how high you can go with the FSB depends on your hardware. I had my 2000+ Pali up to 200 x 9 in this board but any higher and my video card started to crap out. (got strange text and colors all over the screen) I had to relax my mem timings to do this however and my 3D Marks dropped. So now I'm running pretty much the highest FSB I can get with aggressive timings at the default multi.

I believe you can cut/short some and connect other L3 bridges to change the default multi of the 2100+ as depicted in this drawing.

For example, a 2400+ will work in the KX7 and the BIOS reads the default multi on the chip as 15 but displays >=13.
