Hello everyone, I am upgrading my P3 500 to an athlon xp 1700+ an I have a question.

Old system which I am upgrading has a 250 watt PSU, it ran P3-500, 256mb pc 133ram, 2 cd roms, 2 hard drives, Vodoo 4500, Sound blaster live value, a external network card, and 4 fans not counting the powersupply fan. Everything worked fine with the 250watt PSU.

I would like to use my case and old PSU becasue I can barely afford to upgrade but there will be a few changes to the system.

The 250watt PSU will now power Gigabyte 7VAX Mobo, Athlon 1700+, 1 hard drive, 1 cd rom, Radeon 8500le video, Soundblaster live value, Network card, and 256mb ddr 266

I do not planing on adding any other components with the current PSU I plan to use. I also dont plan to overclock with the currrent PSU, and my question is will my PSU be able to handle the new components?

Ok I ran a few tests

with the 250 watt psu I poped it my an athlon 900 system with a 300watt psu to see what happens.

system specs tested, Athlon 900, 256mb pc 133, 2 40gig hard drives, 1 cd rom, Radeon 8500le, Network card, Soundblaster Live value card,
