KT7A givin up on me.

Well recently my Soyo K7VTA pro gave up on me.
And now it seems my Abit KT7A is headin the same way.
Were trying to reinstall win2k to boost some 3dmark scores.
And when the blue installation screen starts i get a error message after a while.
I/O ERROR 000800
or something like that.
First thought was that my CD was busted or corrupt.
So i tryed installing debian.
With no success at all.
I wonder, Can the modded bios i dl'd and flashed be the cause of this problem.
If not what can it be?
Ive checked the mobo for visible flaws but none noticable.

hmm, I don't think it would be your bios. I'd go through the bios and make sure that all the settings where correct.

If you checked the board visually, then I would assume none of the capacitors are damaged...

Well ive checked the capasitors last night.
None looked bulged or burnt.
Ive got this creepy feeling my hdd has taken a beating from the OC.
Gonna try with another drive tonight.
Damn work is keepin me from the comp.

Well Sonny ive had no probs with this palo chip.
But im gonna try with my old faithful Duron tonight.
Strippin the comp tonight.
Guess gf will be ****ed but hey...its worth it.

Found the problem.
Im guessing my oc'in has drained the last piece of sanity outta my cdrom.
Tryed one of my old ones and it works flawlessly.

Sometimes the stuff that goes bad is the one we least suspect

Well just to add to the torment im devoured by i lost all my good pr0n last night.
Had space left from old linux partition so i decided to put that space on my BIG partition(pr0n and stuff).
Well 15% progress and the computer crashes.
I lost pretty much everything, except some corrupted tunes.
I just want to cry since im on a ****ty dsl link(0.5mbit).
I seriously need to buy me a cd writer.
perhaps move this thread into gripes and moans cause thats what i feel like doin atm.
