Not sure which card to buy.

I just picked up an ASUS mobo with an XP1700 cpu and 256mb of ddr memory and now need to figure out which video card to buy. I am wanting to get a card for less than 150 bucks. I am not into having the latest and greatest things, but rather the best bang for the buck. I am looking at the Radeon 8500LE and the TI4200. I can get the 64mb version of the LE for 72shipped, or I can get the TI200 shipped for 118. So I guess that my question is which one of these will be the best bang for the buck? Right now I am using a TI200 and am plenty happy with it, but was hoping for a bit of an upgrade along with the new system.

imho the difference in actualy games wouldnt be that great between an overclocked Ti200 and 8500LE, the 4200 would be better but not worht 118$ better, so unless you plan to keep using the Ti200 in your current rig then i wouldnt get a new card

Yeah I'd say that the 8500LE is the best deal that you can get right now as well. I never see them that cheap up here though.

Thats kindof what I was thinking, but I do plan on getting a new card. It's just that I know that cards are going to drop in price again soon when the GFFX hits the shelves.

wait it out man. also the radeon8500le is no faster than a ti200. you may want to upgrade that celeron to an athlon XP2000 for like $100 instead then when the r350 comes, get the radeon9500 and mod it to a 9700 pro then mod it again to a fireGL XL then OC it like mad then you got the world's fastest card, beating the geforceFX hands down!

Get a 8500 (not LE) or a Geforce 4200. The 9500 is quite a bit more...
