The Antec 550 true power seems to have a seperate 'sense' wire for the 12V on the ATX/mobo connector(the yellow wire), does this mean it's current is regulated separetly from the 5V rail?,(most PSU's have them 'joined' don't they?)...
My mobo +12V rail seems low at 11.62V ( I only have the winbond chips reading so far, no multi metre), the +5V rail reads 4.89V. the last time I did a m/m test was with my last PSU which read 4.81 onboard and 4.94 with m/m(at mosfets) so I imagine the 5V is bang on 5V, it does'nt lower even when running CPU 100% intensive . The only things on the mobo that I know run off the +12V rail are two 40mm fans, northbridge and GPU HSF's, could it be low because there is little current being drawn and it's independance from the +5V rail?...
Where would I test the 12V on the mobo with a m/metre?, the fan headers maybe?. I'd prefer to test somewhere that had currant being passed through though, or should'nt this matter?...
Thanx for any help ...
