Hey guys
I’ve got a bit of instability problems here.
Last week I bought me a new 80gb maxtor HDD. Before this I was running win2k so I thought I’d give winxp a try.
So after installing everything and running for a day or so things started to get unstable. I had hardlocks and some spontaneous reboots, very annoying indeed.
But sofar I figured that the problem was somehow being caused by faulty drivers in winxp.
Last night my second HDD, a 40gb maxtor, shut it self down in windows, then tried to boot again, still in windows. After a few attempts I shut the whole thing down.
My rig:
P4 2.4 @ 2.88
ASUS P4T533
ATi R9700 Pro @ 355-325
512mb pc4200 samsung Rimm @ 160x4
80gb maxtor 7200 rpm
40gb maxtor 7200 rpm
and finally 350watt Aopen PSU
I know what you’re thinking, a 350 couldn’t possibly handle all of that but so far it has, in win2k with only one hdd everything ran perfectly smooth and stable.
So what do you think has my 350watt Aopen finally reached its limits or could something else be the matter?
