is there any physical way to tell if my 1.8A is dead?

I keep getting errors, it wont post and my IT7 reads code "A7" which means install or detect co-processor. Ive tried everything and the CPU is still producing heat when powered so i think its alive. Any ideas?

By the way ive cleaned off the CPU and re-installed it about 10 times, cleared the CMOS, and reseated the memory, I am really getting hopeless
