3D Mark score

OMG, I just DL 3dmark to do a pre and post upgrade score to see the difference after all the upgrades I am doing.

Currently I am running AMD 950 Tbird, 512 MB PC2100 Kingston, GeForce2Ti 64MB, 30 Gig WD, stock cooling and case.

With this set-up I scored a 3679! When the test was running I kept thinking it looked pretty good. Then I saw the score.

Tommorow my new mobo arives and I will be running the setup in my sig. Any idea what kinda scores this will produce? I will post the scores (if everything goes well) tomorrow or Thursday.

Within 60 days I will be upgrading my HD, memory and video card. I was thinking WD SE 80 gig, crucial PC3200 2 x 256, and GeForce4 Ti4200 128MB 8XAGP.

Anyway wish me luck!

I think that the Video card will still be a major bottleneck, although you should see an improvement I wouldn't expect too much,I am saying maybe closer to 5k.

He is going to be getting a gf4Ti4200 he is definately going to break 5k. I would say a stock score of around 8-9k or so. I'm sure there is something with a similar setup to yours who will be able to give you a better answer than me.

Edit: Oops that's video card upgrade isn't coming tommorow, should have read your post better.

Wow, I figured the upgraded processor and mobo would produce a more substantial improvement in the 3Dmark scores but I guess it makes sense that the video card is the limiting factor. I would have upgraded the video card but I am waiting for the FX to come out to drop the prices of the other cards.

Oh and my current mobo is a Gigabyte K7D or something like that. The rest of what Fusionboi asked for is in the post. Oh well maybe I'll upgrade the video card sooner than I thought. I did play JKII the other day and it looked pretty good. I can't imagine the level of graphics people are getting with 13-17k 3dmark scores. Probably can see the hair on a fly's @$$ sway in the wind.

It's not really about image quality when it comes to 3dmark scores. The higher the score the more fps you will get in games especially with high resolutions the gap widens.
