I run ftp with 4 WD SE HDs. ( 80gb, 100gb, 2x 120gb) most of them are full, I wanna backup the data on those HDs so if any of them broken I still have my files safe for the FTP.. but I tried drive image.... they need too much space to backup my hard drives.( like 40GB to backup 120GB hd) if I wanna backup all 420GB of space that mean impossible? dont wanna buy more HD just for backup!

any idea how/what to use?

Your options are limited to:

-Burning everything to CD or DVD
-Buying new HD drives to back up data onto.
-Buying a tape backup system (can be very expensive).

You should have started with mirrored drives or a RAID 5 array so you don't lose anything if only one drive dies on you.

But what the heck is he going to ghost to? He already says he doesn't have the space for these backup images.

I cast my vote for raid5.
