HDD info

I lost my 40GB Western Digital due to clicking sounds. I shut down the machine and removed it. I just got a new HDD and want to see if the data from the bad one can be transferred to the new. Is there anyway to do this or am I pretty much out of luck ?

can you access the old one at all? if its just making clicking noises but is still vaguely usable then get on it, back stuff up quick as you can then get rid for good...

if the drives a gonna, its a gonna though - perhaps some specialist place would be able to retrieve your data
