That is one of the most horrible things I have ever seen. I am really uncomfortable with them "authorizing" what I do with my stuff. No good will come of this.

It's like a japanese animation cartoon where everything is controlled by super huge corporations. This is scary to say the least.

How can you crack every mobo chip (CPU too) and piece of HW as well as all your SW (OS too)

The scheme is very secure as the HW & SW work together to lock you out. Any piece of the system can lock it all up.

I'm stayin' with w2k sp2. You'd all better start downloading and archiving the stuff you love because M$ has a habit of pulling their older stuff and making you grab the latest and greatest LOL.

I'm very wary of M$ updates anymore not because of a hidden PT payload (w2k sp4?) But just because half of 'em hose your OS in the process of supposedly making it more secure. DirectX 8 for w2k screwed me up to the point of reinstalling w2k to get rid of it.

I read the sp3 EULA and I had to double check and make sure it wasn't XP they wanted me to install. Also I think it has a little PT mixed in with it. I have the full network install files should I decide to do it later if this opinion later is proved, to my satisfaction, to be unfounded. I know sp4 will have PT as will any futher XP sp.x. It may not be the full load Longhorne will have but any at all is to be avoided if at all possibe.
