Dell Windows XP

Is there anyway to install Windows XP from a Dell Win XP disc to a non Dell system.

yes, u install like normal and use the key on the side of the dell pc

Sorry I'm not familiar with Dell but what is meant by the key ?

The CD Key. It is usually on a tag on the side of the case.

But, if it is a dell copy..are you using a restore disk or did they actually give you a copy of WinXP?

I have the original Dell disc.

What you can do is copy the CD contents to the HD, then delete the directory named something along the lines of "$OEM$" this will pretty much give you a clean OS with no OEM addon/links. Then reburn the CD.
