Hi, I was getting into OCing but then I read horror stories about a psu crapping out on you and all your lovely components dieing instantly.
Right now I am running at stock speed in hopes that I don't overload my generic psu.
right now I am running
5 80mm Antec LED case fans
WD 120gb HD
DVD drive
CDRW drive
P4 2.4b
Gainward GF4Ti4200 128mb
Gigabyte PE667
Floppy
My generic PSU is a Powerup psu.
input: 115/230v~8/4A 60/50hz
Output: 350W
+3.3v 24A
+5v 35A
+12v 12A
+5VSB 2A
-5v 0.5A
-12v 0.8A
I have a Sparkle 300W psu also. Model# FSP300-60ATV
Specs:
Input:95-132/180-264 47-63hz
Output: 300W
+3.3v 15/28A
+5v 30/21.5A
+12v 15A
+5VSB 2.0A
-5v 0.3A
-12v 0.8A
+5v and +3.3v must not exceed 200W
+5v, +3.3v, and +12v total output not exceed 280W
So my question is, would it be safe to OC on my generic PSU or swap it for my Sparkle? Also, would neither of these be sufficient? I want to try and hit as high as possible oc on my p4.
