Are there any appreciable differences between the PSUs in ATX and micro-ATX cases? I suppose in theory since ATX boards tend to have more PCI slots, they ought to have beefier PSUs. But is there any difference in size?

Or, did I just answer my own question?

Thanks.

there shouldnt be any difference at all, because all powersupplys are rated at a certain wattage, so a 400w ATX supply and a 400w mini-ATX supply should be putting out close to the same power, assuming they are each built using quality parts

A micro ATX power supply is smaller and is meant to be used in micro ATX cases for that reason only, they can still run a regular ATX machine but wont fit properly in the PSU casing.
