Bioses Obsolete ??

Apparently Intel plans to do away with the bios using something called EFI . This new tech sounds powerfull and interesting but I'm still fairly skeptical .

I dont know about that zdnet, but it was reported in the IDF and from reading that it has been around for a while in use with Itanium based computers - so nothing new really, just it beginning to make its voyage to the masses...

That´s a very interesting concept.
If they improve the current bios features as it seems to be plan, i´m inclined to say welcome, but...(there´s allways but) protection will be more compromised since it will be written in a more acessible programming language.
