The natural cycle time for PC3500 should be 4.5 ns (218 Mhz = 3500/8). So HyperX is a module based on overclocking 5 ns DRAM chip.

Corsair 3500C2 is also based on overclocking 5 ns chips.

OCZ EL 3500C2 is based on 4.5 ns chips.

Yeah, most manufacturers do that. Since the highest spec is 3200 they're selecting better-than-average performing 5ns chips and rating them higher. OCZ may be using only average performing 4.5ns chips to achieve the same speed.

It shouldn't matter which chips they use as long as the stick will do the speed they say it will.
