does partitioning you hard drive slow it down in anyway?

i havent noticed any difference in speed myself. i think the only difference would be if you were writing to both partitions at the same time.

Partitioning segregates (yes, the 10 letter word) data into different physical areas on the hard disk. It will take longer for the head to seek one partition area than another, but only if you were running big databases would it matter.

i believe partitioning is benefical for the hd... it wont frag ver fas if you know how to adming partitions
