so i turned it on and the thing sounds like one of the fans inside or the hard drive is uniformly slows down and speeds up , every second

also where can i get a program that monitors the temperature of my hd etc

my computers been doing that lately too but when I shut it down and turn it back on It goes away.

Could be out of tune fans.....you're a music man, aren't you? Sometimes the frequency of the fan vibrations come close together and cause them to sound "out of tune." Usually when this happens I just slap my tower a few times, to see if I can knock the vibration back into place.

Open the case and watch what happens. Also, try to pinpoint where the sound is coming from. Fans usually don't fail that way but hey...there is always a first time. Sounds like a dying HD or what DaveSauce says above.
