Put in an albatron ti 4800 using 40.72 dets and it will only go in as a ti 4400 or less.I put in in as a ti4200 x8 and the core/memory is reading correctly.Is this normal?Card seems to work great,scores 12175 on 3dmark 2002se with whole system at default settings.This is on a 2.53 p4/p4pe mobo and 512 xms memory running win98se.

The 40.72 dets were released before the 8x cards i believe, and therefor can't identify them. Give a newer set i try.

42.76. THE 43 dets have a lot of issues right now, and the gffx has been proven to run better on the 42.7 rather than the 43's

Am I right that if clock speeds report right what its labeled does not matter?Clocks are 275/550 and so far goes to 300/600 like nothing.I do need a different oc'er, coolbits works but will not keep setting after rebooting.

Gruvin is absolutely right.

Ti4800SE = Ti4400 w 8x
Ti4800 = Ti4600 w 8x

Also, the 40.72 does support 8x.

Yes I am aware of what the card is.275/550 default speeds and it runs perfect at 300/600.I just tried 300/625 and tho it ran 3dmark it started doing some weird stuff.I didnit try upping the voltage to it but I do have agp/pci speeds locked on the mobo.Right now this card is plenty fast enough:eek: did I say that?
