Right now i have a PC in my room and a PC in the living room and they are both connected through a router in my room. How would i share files from my PC to the other PC&vis-versa(sp?)?

Thanks.

You need to make sure that FTP(file transfer protocol) is enabled on both systems (as well as MS Networking perhaps) and you may or may not need to configure your router additionally, depending on your current configuration...

And what is "SP?".

Thanks :)

BTW:(sp?) is usually thrown after a word if the typer isnt sure if thats the correct spelling.Vis versa isnt a word i use......ever come to think of it,so i wasnt sure how to spell.

To what ports do you have both PCs connected to the router??
What is the router purpose? Internet sharing?

Does the router have a integraded hub/switch?
If it does you only have to configure on both computers the tcp/ip setting and same workgroup.

Something like this:

Router lan - 192.168.0.254/ 255.255.255.0

PC1 - 192.168.0.1 / 255.255.255.0
gateway - 192.168.0.254
workgroup - home

PC2 -192.168.0.2 /255.255.255.0
gateway . 192.168.0.254
workgroup - home

File and printer sharing must be enabled on both PCs.
Share the directory you need.

And that´s about it...
