The 2100+ will most likely get you 200-300MHz more than the 1700, somewhere around 2.4.

I just bought a 1700+ last night and can get it to run stable at xp 2600+ or 2.113 GHZ. 12.5 x168. I will play with it a bit more later tonight. I can't complain conscidering I got the 1700+ for $89 dollars and the 2100+ costs $156... These are canadian prices btw.

I got a Jiuhb 0304 1700, and from every signature or oc result thread i've seen of a b 2100, compared to mine they are exactly the same results.....

So, either i got extremly lucky or 1700's , 2100's and 2400's are the same damn chips....

P.S. , this one i have does 2100 mhz at stock pretty nice...

My advice, definitly get a rev b 1700, get a nice NForce 2 board to go with it and some kickass memory.

I'd say that for the most part fender is right. The 2100+ seem to do a hair betteron average than the 1700+... but the price difference may account for that... ie someone who spends 100$ for a cpu probably also spent more on his PSU, mobo, ram, cooling, etc.

Case in point. I haven't seen a single 1700+ on a prommy, I've seen 4 or 5 2100+ on prommies. (Yes that is the plural of prommy )

Personally? If you are certain You'll get an H chip I would probably get the 1700+. Of course the difference is only 34$ at newegg now, so it's not nearly as biased as it was when 2100+ were like 112$ and 1700+ were like 48$. Still 34$ is probably about the difference between some useless ass noname 400watt and a sparkle 400 watt. And I'd say a 1700+ JIUHB on a sparkle will crush a 2100+ AIUHB on a noname with ****ty rails.

Oh and Fender I got even luckier. I can get right around 2400mhz at 1.80v Sadly 208 fsb isn't stable on my ep-8rda, otherwise I'd be 208x11.5 (2402mhz on this board). I'm just 1 mhz fsb shy of that beautiful number. I might try 205x12 and see if I can get a 1 gig overclock with 1.85v but I dont think I can do that with this chip. Takes loads of voltage to go over 2400mhz.

edit: Just tested. I can do 2470 @ 1.875v stable for a few tests in prime. But I stopped. I don't want to run this chip regularly at anything above 1.85v I'd guess 1.875-1.9v I could get a 1 ghz stable OC out of it. Right now Im at 2402 208x11.5, ram turned down to cas 2.5 just to be sure it wasn't what was making me instable.

God DAmn ! You Lucky SOB !!!! *shakes fist @ Lithan*

Man... i need to give her 2.15 to get to 2400.....
I think my memory also is playing a large role in my not so great results @ higher fsbs...

At the moment all i can get @ 1.875 stable is 2275....

I highly recommend the JIUHB 1700+! They kick ass! Mine is running @ 1.93 Ghz, being limited by my mobo/ram. New ram should help me see 2Ghz I would think.

I'll have to agree. I didn't think the 2100+ was worth the extra money. I'm running my 0302 1700+ at 10x200 at 1.6V. I'll go much higher, but my 3DMark score doesn't improve much, so this is where it'll stay.

Depending on your vid card, you may or may not experience better performance (remember performace does not always equal pure Mhz) with the 2100+

Will most 1700+ Bs hit 2200? My XP333 won't let me adjust multis, so I need a chip that'll make it to 200mhz FSB without hardcoding the multi.

i'd say you've got a 35% chance of hitting 2.2ghz with a 1700+

thats a pretty high overclock, while definately possible, its not got good odds.

I have both 2100 wk 0250 and 1700 wk 0307. just got the 1700 today to put in another system. It's been running in the signature setup for 3 hrs now at 2203ghz as I type. The 2100 has hit 2450ghz stable but I run it around 2350 for daily use. Still testing the 1700 but very impressed so far with the price/performance. If I wasn't a "Bench Mark Junkie", the 1700 would probably be my choice and use the savings towards an Nforce2 board and better memory.

I'd say you have a 98% chance of hitting 2200 with a JIUHB. I've yet to see one that can't. Mine will at stock voltage for christs sake.
