I have a single 512MB PC2700 stick so I should set 2-bank interleave, (2 physical banks) however when I set 4-bank interleave (thus forced) I get slightly faster mem scores in Sandra. But what I really would like to know is which setting is best for stability? See my sig for system specs...

If you suspect 4 way is making your system unstable set it back. Until then, take the extra performance.

I have a single stick of 512mb PC2700 in my AMD rig at 4way and it's doing fine.

Thanx for the tips! I did a websearch and found out my 512MB stick is indeed a 4-bank and at PC2100 speed (which it is running at with my P4X266E board) it's a true JEDEC-spec CL2 and 8 burst-lenght stick! So I know what to set in my BIOS now ofcourse...
