Dual boot Win2k/WinXP, both were working fine. Did some updates to XP and on going back to 2k get the message that hal.dll is corrupt and to please recopy. Have searched the MS database but can't find anything dealing with the hal.dll file and Win2k, all the posts deal with WinXP. My other system runs Win2k and hal.dll is present so it is part of the system. I've deleted it and then copied the file from my running system into the problem system but that doesn't work.

Anyone know what is going on? Suggestions how to make Win2k happy again? Thanks for any help.
