very Very Weird P4 2.8

My P4 2.8 is going mad.

My prometeia compresser has given up but the looks of things. But im also experiencing CPU trouble.

The cpu seems to work, and seems not too.

I took it round to a shop to test it and make sure it wasnt another piece of hardware.

It failed like i suspected. But i wasnt 100% convinded, suprise suprise i was correct. nothing wrong. But it seems to go in 3 stages.

1st i see cpu speed and fails.
2nd i see as far as the amount of ram fails
3rd time she boots.

temperature is 48degs using stock heat sink.

Any ideas anyone? Intel has being contacted as my supplier.

How do i test a defective cpu that will stop stable for no more then 5minutes?

wow, that's a mess...can't you just return it?

you can test if with prime95 always... it will check if your cpu makes errors...
i agree with dustybyrd.. this chip is horrible so i would just return it...

ive had it since Early Feb, 1st time its gone like this.

Tbh my systems jst been a disaster from day one, if its not the prommy conditioner not liking my PSU its the CPU playing up.

Oh and then theres the **** motherboard monior that about as acurate as i dont know but its crap!
