I want to know if any of these products may have an issue with the 8rda+ this is the first system I've built and im worried something will go wrong so I just want to make sure there are no issues.. I know some people have been having trouble with Gforce4's and Corsair XMS RAM. As you can probably guess I am going to try and overclock the CPU... I have insured to get a lot of cooling for this and I really dont plan on going too high (at least until I know what im doing) I do want it to get above 2GHZ.. Which doesnt seem to be a problem with most users on nforce2s or with the 2100+ any criticsim is welcome. Im sticking with the onboard sound and LAN also.. They seem good enough.

Motherboard: Epox 8rda deluxe

CPU: Athlon XP 2100 (1.736 ghz) T-Bred B

RAM:2 256MB Twinmos/Winbond PC3200 DDR400 (512MB DUAL)

Hard Drive: Western Digitial 80 GB 7200RPM 8MB cache "SE"

Video Card:ATI Radeon 9500 Pro

Case: Diamond steel Black Midtower w/ side window, 10 bays, front USB, and room for 7 fans

Power Supply: Enlight ATX 420W P4 Power Supply EN-8420934

cooling:
Thermalright SK-7 Socket A Cooler -Heatsink

4X 80MM 32.5CFM / 28.3dB SVC 4-pin fans - case fans

Thermaltake Smart Case Fan 2 -HSF

Vantec Iceberq Solid Copper -Northbridge cooling

Vantec Iceberq VGA and Chipset Cooler -Southbridge cooling

DDR Memory Module Heat Spreader -MOSFETS cooling

Im using http://newegg.comnewegg.com for most of the stuff.

the cooling and case are from http://www.SVC.com

the memory is from http://www.memoryx.com

total price is $865 and I think I have a great setup.

Im actually paying more since I need a new monitor, CDRW, speakers, mouse, and keyboard, but hey these are the basics and I dont think that stuff matters much for this post.

You may think the case is kinda sketchy, but it looks nice and has a lot of features see it here:

edit: THANKS!

I would suggest maybe a sparlke 400w or the antec true power 430win place of the one you have picked.

Other then that It should be a great setup.

Looks like you have a pretty good setup..
On the topic of the "sb" cooler..You are aware that you might have to do a little "filing" in order to get that Iceberg to fit? I don't have one on mine but I think I read that ..

Whats wrong with the enlight?? I was told they are good over on the case/PSU forums

I wasnt aware that the Iceberg may not fit. Maybe I could just get something smaller?

Just get the Copper Vantec Iceberq VGA kit. Use the active cooler on the NB, then use the passive cooler that comes with it for the SB (it fits perfectly). I think active southbridge cooling is overkill.

Looks like a good setup to me. I've got the Iceburg kit and no problems, see sig below for my system. I've had no problems with either Cosair or the GF4 but the components you've selected will do fine.

Enjoy it!!

I have to disagree with you there. My southbridge gets very hot and at high FSB I tend to get some sound crackling in certain games. I added a fan to the passive SB cooling I had already added, and it seems to help with the onboard sound issue. Just makes me feel better, too.

Did you ever see the thermal pics of the 8RDA that some guy has posted on his web page? The SB is a furnace!

That may be an issue with the 8RDA only... different sound processor for the 8RDA+.

I've felt my SB heatsink and it's always cool to the touch.. no volt mod, but only 188 FSB here.

Hmmmm...don't know, but look at the thermal images here (8RDA+)

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/bubo/

I know mine ran hot because the passive HS (without fan) was very warm to the touch.

I really like the looks of the Enermax 350. It's got some ballz. 32 amps on both the 3.3v and 5v, and 25 amps on the 12v.

No this is a issue with both the 8RDA and 8RDA+. I know, because I added active cooling to my SB to stop the cracking sounds I was getting during heavy gaming. I also mentioned this to BrainStorm on a thread over at XS, about it solving the sound problem.

Glad it help out BrainStorm.

And to stay on topic, yes change the PSU to either a Sparkle 400w (do not go under) or a TTGI or a Thermaltake w/active PFC, those are about the best PSU's out, especially when overclocking real high and still maintaining stable +5 and +12 rails.
