Whats up with that overclocking patent? Is it going to be applied to the cuurent processors available, or the processors developed from now on like the 3.33GHz and up? Anyone know?

Thanks:mad:

dont quote me but im sure it will be to the newer chips. If intel does make UNoverclockable chips then i will never buy another intel chip ever. unless its for a client ofcourse ;)

dont expect it to pop up any time soon....
For example hyper-threading, when was that patented? early 90's. ..
I believe AMD's version was done in 1998.

Also, there is always another clock to manipulate, so I think we will be able to work around it……
Or buy the time is does come around, MHz might not even mean anything at all anymore

Hopefully it just doesn't get put into effect, but if id does, then someone will definately find a way around it. Probably even the mobo comanies will find a way around it or just forget intel.

Read the article on the front page.

And if they ever did implement it, I'm sure we could find a way around it.
